Definition from the World Federation of Chiropractic
In Australia, chiropractors are healthcare professionals with a minimum of 5 years university education. Over 300,000 Australians visit a chiropractor every week. Chiropractic utilises evidence based, non invasive methods, like specific spinal adjustments and low force interventions to provide a ‘hands on’, drug free approach to healthcare.
At The Mountains Chiropractic we focus on educating patients and empowering them to take charge of their health (and future). We do this by providing lifestyle advice and rehabilitation where necessary, alongside chiropractic adjustments. We take into account each patients' individual needs, beliefs, and preferences in our approach and work together with patients for their well-being.
Most people know that chiropractors work on the spine. But a lot of people don’t realise why. The reason we are obsessed with your spine and posture is because how your spine is moving/functioning directly impacts your brain. Your brain is the master controller of your body. Every cell, muscle and organ in your body is controlled by your brain.
When you have spinal joint dysfunction that is interfering with nervous system function (chiropractors calls this ‘vertebral subluxation’) multiple changes occur throughout the body, and quite often you won’t even be aware of them. More often than not, the issues that bring people through our door, such as neck pain, headaches, headaches, low back pain, hip, knee, elbow or shoulder pain, are actually late stage symptoms of spinal and nervous system dysfunction.
So, while chiropractic has been found to be great at helping with the above conditions, there are many other benefits that you may gain from chiropractic care to improve your overall quality of life!
